Happy New Year 2009

Well, here we go. I am thankful to be starting a new year. My daughter said tonight, 2008 was the worst year of my life, I hope this year is better, and I can only echo those sentiments and say AMEN. I know there were some good things during 2008, but I can think of too many sad or bad things, so I'm ready to move on to better things!!

I am excited about my upcoming technique club projects. We are doing watercoloring in January and then we will be doing punches and embellishments in the next few months, and I'm not sure what else. It is so fun to go "browsing" stamp websites to find neat things to do. I am learning right along with my club members.

Of course, this month, Stampin' Up! is coming out with their new catalog. I'm not sure I like having 2 catalogs each year. It is taking some getting used to, and I sure have a harder time keeping up with everything. I kind of like just one catalog and several minis, but this seems to be how SU is thinking things are going in the industry.

I am happy to report that I was able to get the Christmas decorations put away, well almost all of them, I keep finding things here and there, but they are mostly taken care of. I even managed to get the computer desk, cleared and cleaned this week. Now I can start on something else. Today I worked on a couple of "coaster albums" for friends. I am still a little behind on finishing my Christmas presents. But I guess "better late than never" right? I think they are turning out really cute.

My daughter and I are going to try and tone and lose weight over the next several weeks - or months. We started by exercising today. Boy, do I feel it tonight!!! I hope we can stay motivated and on track. The next part is to get a menu set up that is healthy and can help us on our goals. She doesn't need to lose, just tone, but I need to lose. We are going to do a Biggest Loser program in our office starting next week, and I am hoping to actually lose about 30 pounds and get rid of my extra "rolls" around the middle. I know I'll look better and I know I'll feel better. And of course, then I'll have to get NEW CLOTHES!!!

Things are going well at our house. We have settled down into a nice routine, having our son here with us, and I am praying things will go well. I uphold the laws of the land, but sometimes they don't really seem to do what they are meant to do, and it's hard to not be angry.

Happy New Year!!
